pockyman sets out to row in his boat when he is beset by dangerous seas. they break up his boat and its pieces begin to sink. struggling for his life, pockyman begins to lose hope. at the last moment, a passing ship of pockymen extend him a hand and save him.

I think you might be a bit optimistic there. I think pockyman gets crushed by a tree after crashing the remains of the vessel into the shore (or it could be a bridge that falls on him after crashing into a bridge support). I think it's a tragedy.
