There was a time, not so long ago, when our people were divided. Whether through happenstance or artifice, the system that contains and supports us split our people into two distinct strata. Those who were gifted with superior intellect, grace, and charm became members of the Upper Class. They used their influence and wealth to direct and entertain the people of the Lower Class, who turned the gears of our great machine with their blood, sweat, and tears. The Lower Class multiplied and thrived, working together to supply grain, build infrastructure, fight wars, and maintain the status quo. The Upper Class comingled and collaborated, selectively interbreeding, joining houses, and carrying out various political actions to determine the destiny of our kind. Heroes arose from among them. These heroes would shape the world. They would define chivalry
, and courage
. They were the best of us and they exemplified what was best about us. In turn, the men and women of both classes would look up to these heroes and try to walk in their footsteps. The people would emulate these heroes. The world was blessed.
Time passed and the schism fractured. Multiple strata appeared where there were two and lines were blurred. Our people struggled to adapt to the new social system that they had little and complete control of. First, a Middle Class arose, distinct from the Upper and Lower. The Middle Class obtained a bold new control gimmick over the system by arresting the Vote. By shoring up riches not quite close to those of the Upper Class and combining them with sheer numbers not yet equal to the Lower Class, the Middle Class began to direct the manifest destiny of our kind. Further fracturing saw the further division of strata and gave rise to those who would associate themselves with the Upper Middle, Lower Middle, and Middle Upper Classes. A strange synthesis developed as an offshoot branch of the Upper Class began to espouse what they believed were the values and aspects of the Lower Class. This incipient Under Class would marry the wealth and prosperity of the Upper Class that they were born into with an ideology bastardized from the ranks of the Lower Class that they had no real access to, thus creating a kind of parody. Through rampant abuse of the wealth and position that they were granted upon birth, the Under Class manipulated the media in order to become ubiquitous. Their forced placement into the foundation of our culture was prolific and insidious. After a few short decades, exploiting the collapse of our culture due to wanton greed and the mindless Capitalistic need for gain without regard, the Under Class would supplant the heroes of yesteryear. They began to redefine our standards of beauty
, and faith
. They changed the way we listened to music
, watched television
, they even changed the face of our national pastimes
The youth did not, could not know any better, as the parents that should have been raising them were forced into an endless system of baffles that would take away their time in exchange for an empty promise of future security. The youth, twisted by the system they now actually had so very little power over, embraced these new heroes. In this modern, wayward era of Corporatism and mass delusion, new paragons have been chosen by those who never learned that there was a precedent. Though the glimmer of hope still remains for our people, for now we must endure the Dominance of Our Under Class Heroes Exemplified.
