Missive From Strangers From Friends by Herbie Hatman

January 12th, 2008 12:25 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Have a stranger write a postcard or letter to someone you know.

It is recommended that you give the postcards to strangers already-stamped and addressed.

"eclectic, artsy, foggy"
"agonizing, exciting, passionate"
"I took her" "mangos [sic]
sunshine babies" "eros
acorn bridge" "it kinda sucks"
"in need of acceptance"
"confusing young fast"
"honeymoon, barbary lane"
"hot quick now"
"age of acceptance"
"castro techno homo" "happens"
"toothbrush, gas, laughs" (upsidedown in reverse and in a different color ink)
"is a beautiful thing"
"don't hurt me"
"hot, blind and foggy"
"changed my life"
"turnover great city"
"best time ever"
"random, scenic, passionate"
"complicated, delicate, open" (upsidedown)
"unfortunate hippy residue"

Well, I know it says a stranger, but I deviated. I hope that you will think that it is a worthwhile deviation.

I asked 23 different random people to write "up to three words on the prompt: 'Love in San Francisco'". This is what I got. Unfortunately, "toothbrush" and "me" were covered by my delinquent stamp.

- smaller

"I left my heart......"

"I left my heart......"

"up tp three words..."

"up tp three words..."

I like "random, scenic, passionate." It's a beautiful postcard!

Having lots of people write on the same postcard is a cool take on this.
