Dérive by Not Here No More

After getting dropped off by my aunt, and helping my cousins out of the car (they are both four, and were going to a party.) I began to set off. this view is that of me looking out from the awning of a hotel in Hayes valley.
IMG_4647SFØed.jpg
I decided to follow the woman up the street for a bit. As long as you are far enough away, most people don't care.
IMG_4648SFØed.jpg
But, alas, I am suposed to go to get some free delivery double decker busses! I cannot follow her.
IMG_4653SFØed.jpg
I spoke to a man for a minute. the guy was cool. He's on the right, in the glass. He told me to go into the art gallery, which was awesome. If any of the stuffs still there, go. Now. Go.
IMG_4659sføed.jpg
The woman leaning against the hedge was talking very loudly on her cell phone. It all had something to do with a love triangle, and her boyfriend sleeping with someone. It all sounded like an episode of "all my children".
IMG_4661SFØed.jpg
I remember having to go to a boys chorus concert when I was in second grade. It was for my friend David, who had to sing a bunch of dreadful Christmas songs. I lived.
IMG_4662SFØed.jpg
The woman in the picture had a very funny walk. Sort of like the weird dovening sneak walk that Elmer Fud has.
IMG_4664SFØed.jpg
Apparently, there is only one way. I was conformist, and followed it, for lack of a better way.
IMG_4665SFØed.jpg
It was unbearably hot that day. I was sweating like...someone who was sweating a lot.
IMG_4671sfØed.jpg
The guy in the picture complained about me having his picture, but was in to much of a hurry to check if I had actually deleted it.
IMG_4681SFØed.jpg
It would be funny to wear one of those as a hat. I think Mojo Jojo did it in the powerpuff girls movie. I don't even want to know how I remember that.
IMG_4687SFØed.jpg
Again. I'm in front of the opera house, by the way. (I think it was the opera house.)
IMG_4697SFØed.jpg
I'm afraid of people who search you. Then one of the cops gave me an angry stare. I didn't go in. Perhaps another day. Definitely another day.
IMG_4705SFØed.jpg
I want to write "A" on that sign. Then dance there all day, while listening to Weird Al.
IMG_4707SFØed.jpg
I bought a soda. As much as I hate the Coke company, for some reason their sodas are good. the guy at the stand was nice.
IMG_4711SFØed.jpg
When I was sitting there, drinking my mass produced carcinogen filled soda, All that I could think about was "Is this what the future holds?" City hall in the shape of a coke can? A coke can monument next to city hall? Everyone drinking coke? Consumerist nightmares? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
IMG_4712SFØed.jpg
The ground was hard. The coke was disturbingly good for some reason. It wasn't even imported from Mexico, which is the usual requirement for good sodas. They are almost always Italian or Mexican.
IMG_4713SFØed.jpg
This is the cold hard facade that runs the city. For some reason I'm reminded of the book "Transmetropolitan". In that book the police have giant gauntlets and giant shields that say "SUBMIT NOW". Look it up. Good graphic novel.
IMG_4715SFØed.jpg
And then, a few feet away from him, were these two. The woman was speaking in gibberish, ranting and raving about something. It was kind of disturbing.
IMG_4721SFØed.jpg
A big stone head sits accross from city hall right now. Typical governmentally approved art.
IMG_4729SFØed.jpg
Past the shoulder of the weird sculpture with no face, we see someone with a face that is past delirium.
IMG_4730SFØed.jpg
The people in the right were getting together for some sort of treasure hunt arg thing. At least, that's what I thought they were doing.
IMG_4731SFØed.jpg
The other side of the plaza had statues too. I unfortunately didn't take pictures of them all.
IMG_4732SFØed.jpg
This is the outer area of the main library. There area always people here, smokeing, drinking, whatever. they always give you weird looks as you go in.
IMG_4733SFØed.jpg
Nobody ever really thinks about what this means. And what is means, well... it's a cigarette butt. And it's in the middle of an otherwise featureless area. It's an oasis of trash in a boring landscape. Let's make things interesting.
IMG_4736SFØed.jpg
That police officer was very nice. I've seen her a couple of times. All times she's said hello, and when I asked if I could take pictures in the building, she had no problem with it.
IMG_4747SFØed.jpg
This is the view out of the children's section in the library, looking to the left. I went in there to find out where Chuck Palaniuk books would be, because, hell, I needed a copy of Diary. They told me to go to the third floor.
IMG_4750SFØed.jpg
Crappy blurry picture of the masses in the teen center. Nobody ever looks happy in the teen center. Never. Not even when they have copies of Les Misrables.
IMG_4751SFØed.jpg
I love this wall. It's all of the old card catalog that the library used to use. And, they turn it into a cool finish on a wall. Epically awesome.
IMG_4752SFØed.jpg
In my elementary school there was a woman named Mis. Pelsner who we all thought had troll blood. Seriously. Complete with the bad tangled haricut. (for all of you who don't get that, find someone who did, and punch them for being total geeks.) for some reason this woman made me think of her. She was a lot nicer than ms. pelsner.
IMG_4755SFØed.jpg
yay. We have a mueral that was obviously created by someone who really, really thought that the overuse of the word "Teen" makes the adolescent mind interested.
IMG_4760SFØed.jpg
Zot! It's the plummer! I've come to fix the sink! Probably a half a person got that.
IMG_4770SFØed.jpg
I decided to take a picture of myself for some reason. Nto only do I look retarded, but my hair has a stray bit that looks as though it is coming out of my nose. Ugh.
IMG_4777SFØed.jpg
Two horseshoes, bits of building, and tiles. As was said by Rune Bellock (I am probably grotesquely misspelling) "if I bury this watch in the desert and leave it there for a thousand years, it goes from worthless to priceless."
IMG_4780SFØed.jpg
The four displays, only some of which I photographed. I'm glad that they have these here.
IMG_4781SFØed.jpg
Out on the street. I love this city. Such a combination of a million micro-cities.
IMG_4783SFØed.jpg
The people in hte center of the picture were discussing very, very strange things very loudly.
IMG_4786SFØed.jpg
I go in and I take a picture. Then the guy starts nigh on yelling at me like I'm an ax murderer.
IMG_4787SFØed.jpg
Well, I don't want an Italian soda anymore. That guy in there was really, really annoying.
IMG_4798SFØed.jpg
Our government likes to be grand. How can you justify to be grand when people are starving?
IMG_4803SFØed.jpg
It's art. Don't argue with me. Just because you have a trashcan there doesn't mean that you can put the trash in it.
IMG_4805SFØed.jpg
My sister has concerts there every year. The inside of the building is really cool.
IMG_4828SFØed.jpg
The toilet seats originated with an artist friend of jame's getting really drunk at a party, and went into the bathroom. He graffiti it.
IMG_4829SFØed.jpg
And the best part was the toilet seat. So, whenever an artist comes into the shop for something in store...they are forced to draw on a toilet seat.
IMG_4835SFØed.jpg
Past French American. I really don't like that school. Well, they hate me there as well.
IMG_4842SFØed.jpg
The guy in the picture thought I was stalking him. He talked to me, and I explained that I was working for the Phsyoigraphical unit of SFØ, which meant that I was doing research.
IMG_4850SFØed.jpg
I don't know why this is sideways, but I am too lazy to change it, and almost too lazy to type this.
IMG_4852SFØed.jpg
I love this mural. I remember when I found one of those controllers in the basement, and used it as a weapons system for my spaceship, aka the couch.

"i wish i liked most neoclassical architecture"
no, you don't.
Well. Yeah.
Neoclassical architecture pretty much sucks worse than Halliburton on steroids.
I liked the feel of it.
Also: Mojo Jojo and Zot. Yeahf.
...the first abstract sculpture is flanked by abstract briefcase sculptures?
Ha! Yes.
I think that they were supposed to be women...
Do you know I pretty much did the same derive just the other day. It's a good place to wander.
allusions, anecdotes, adventure, awkwardness - what else could one ask for in a praxis?
not to mention vespas & transmet
I do this kind of stuff so often on my own. Kindred spirit! XD

Jeez wow that's long.
