Emulate Congress by Lincøln, Loki, SNORLAX, Spidere, Darkaardvark, Developer Pixie, Brock Dubbels

August 5th, 2010 2:11 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Hold a discussion or debate, but only in accordance with a formal timing system.

Six of your SFØ Senators held a debate.
Loki moderated.

It had come time for the SF0 Senators to be more than simply figureheads, and to begin to organize around the important issues concerning SF0. In this debate, we strove to not only address the issues, but come up with ways in which the Senate could be useful for the future of SF0. We hope that this will be the beginning of a bold new direction for the Senate, where the Senators take up their responsibilities and move forward in making SF0 a better place for all.

This proof has the one giant full debate as a whole that you can listen to if you have a large chunk of time on your hands.
(there is stuff that can only be found on this large file that got cut out of the samples, so if you're a completist, this is the one for you)

That full debate audio is here:

The debate has also been split up into nine smaller chunks, one for each question or topic discussed.
Those can be found here:

Hot Topics:

Sock Puppets:

Squibbs vs. Teucer's Drive:

Extreme Tasking:

The New Era:

Susy's concerns about schizophrenia & The Good Kisser Badge:

The Finale:

Then we also went ahead and broke the debate up by Senator. So if you only care about one particular Senator, you can hear their take on all of the questions/topics.
Those are here:

Senator Darkaardvark:

Senator Pixie:

Senator Lowteck:

Senator Spidere:

Senator Babe:

Senator Lincoln:

I will get that badge at all costs!

Let's hope Squibbs isn't listening, but I'm strongly in favor of you guys attempting some kind of daring rescue. +1

I haven't finished it yet, but the bits I've heard are great!

(I want to be doing this sort of thing soon. Vote for me!)

New Era Improvements +2

Here are a few simple changes that would make me very happy in the coming era:

A wider column to work in for our Praxis Proofs. The skinny center column is extremely constraining when trying to format proofs. It forces images to completely break the flow of your text or be shrunk to the size of a stamp. And it seems so arbitrarily restrictive when you see the much wider column we get for our comments.

Make the Proofs you label as favorite show up on your favorites page. This seems like it's just a bug. It'd be nice to see it fixed.

I also want to say that gaining abilities as you level up is a great idea, and I'm a rabid proponent of letting the highest level players have some site administration power that SSI currently bear. So basically, I think Senator Lincoln is right on with his ideas there.
