Monster Vine with Red Bucket
The Vine is a constantly evolving sculpture. On hot days it droops, on cloudy days it pops up. Adding water also makes it enlarge. This red bucket, discarded nearby, was drawn into the sculpture.
Monster Vine 2
A branch of the Monster Vine. Note how the leaves give the effect that they are getting smaller the further down the vine they go. This is called "perspective".
Dramatic Lighting
This use of dramatic lighting, called "Shading", draws your eye towards the center of the piece. The artist has planted something here for all to see. At this angle, it almost looks like a spiral: A metaphor for the MATHEMATICS in everyday life.
Green Globe
Another part of the masterpiece is the addition of "gourds". These green ribbed globes bend and twist slowly into magnificent shapes. These globes make the Monster Vine one of the most famous works of art, for it's ability to "grow parts of itself that can be detached and used for ornamental purposes".
Birth and Death
The Monster Vine also symbolizes Birth and Death. New shoots sprout, as used up branches of the vine die off. One of the greatest metaphors for rebirth, the Monster Vine inspires a sense of awe in all who see it. One has gone so far as to say "How did this thing grow so fast?" and, "My god, it's broken the window and grown into my car!" The Monster Vine, though mortal like all of us, will always be remembered; if only because it killed the rosebush.

I am very happy :D I'm glad you enjoyed it.

"The artist's use of dramatic lighting," as a description of sunlight on a plant, made me crack up in a room of people quietly reading. I hope you are happy, you praiseworthy photographer you.
