Disobedient Nature by Tricia Tanaka

January 22nd, 2008 3:11 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Search for, find, document an example of nature refusing to yield to or blending itself into a construction of modern man.

Document with photos when possible.

Examples should document situations where man has put up some restraint for nature and nature has disobeyed. While trees or other permanent plants are preferable, a basic example would be plants that grow in the cracks of the sidewalk.

There's an old shed in my backyard, which is rusty and falling down, and there's a huge crop of bamboo swarming around it and growing 5 more feet up every time it rains.
The small field in front used to be all bamboo, but was chopped back last year.

Here's the bare field and remaining bamboo.

Whenever there's a storm those metal sheets on the roof bang loudly. That bamboo in front used to be chopped back, but has since grown again.

You cannot even see the shed/barn from the side. Not only is there bamboo, but some trees starting to grow as well.
