INSTRUCTIONS: Learn to knit or crochet. Knit together an object that expresses a strongly held opinion. Mail your creation to someone, preferably the person about whose actions you have that opinion.

In a few weeks the European football championship is gonna take place and this time it's gonna be here in Austria Unfortunatly thats also the only reason why our national team is qualified. To say it clearly: they suck. They didn't win a single game within a very long time. I think the last one they won is about 2 years ago against Trinidad Tobago: It's gonna be a desaster and that's the topic I've chosen for my chrochet work:

I'm sorry, but there is no way I can vote for this enough. And you gave it away?? Words fail to describe the awesomeness of this...

Oh thank you. The truth is I didn't post it yet (postoffices are closed already) but I'm gonna do it tomorrow morning for sure.
I really want him to get it. And I hope that he's gonna respond in any way, but probably he wont...

The best part of this is that you are giving it away - through the post, no less. A crochet firearm is the best gift ever.

I hope one day that crochet conquers the world. Perhaps an EquivalenZ task: replace the world, atom for atom, with crochet.

The colors are supreme.

I hope he attempts to fire the gun. I wonder who he'll use it on first.

i already loved this task as i began to read it... then i got to the part where you can LOAD THE CROCHET GUN.

if you ever find yourself making more Babe Hawaii fan shirts, i will buy some and wear them often, because i am truly a Babe Hawaii fan of the highest order.

wow, thank you!
does anyone know what VISCA EL BARÇA!! means?

A quick google search for the phrase turns up the homepage for the Barcelona soccer (er, um, football) team, so I'm guessing it means "Go Barcelona!" or something like that.

Regardless, this praxis is made out of awesome.

True, it's made of thread, but you sent a loaded gun through the postal service. That's great!

Is there any chance of getting one of these made? I will happily pay good money to get a gun (and especially such an awesome one) in the post!

I have no skill for the fabric arts. I might be able to make a meatloaf shaped like a submersible mine though.

I wouldn't turn it down, if only for the oddness of the package!

You can't mail albondigas soup. I'd have to deliver it in person.

HM if I were you I'd take this offer. Sounds great to me.

I am sorely tempted... you pay for your own flight to England, right?

Also, what IS albondigas?

(no subject)
posted by Lincøln on April 30th, 2008 10:35 AM

Albondigas.

(no subject)
posted by C.M. Gonzalez on April 30th, 2008 10:36 AM

It's a Mexican meatball stew. Large meatballs (sometimes with bits of potato, onion, rice, or hard-boiled egg in them) float in a red beef broth with thick slices of carrots, chunks of potato, rice, and sometimes peas. When I prepare it, there be garlic all up in it.

(Edit: You would need tortillas for sopping. Sopping will be necessary. Go with corn tortillas on this one, the flour ones will do you no good.)

posted by Flash Harry on April 30th, 2008 10:51 AM

Go with corn tortillas for almost every occasion - I myself have found no everyday situation that enough corn tortillas will not serve for.

posted by Lincøln on April 30th, 2008 10:55 AM

Burritos.

Burritos are what the flour ones were made for.

And always cook your tortillas no matter the kind over an open flame.

posted by Haberley Mead on April 30th, 2008 10:58 AM

Good god mna, what is it with you and burritos? Are you being paid to advertise them?

Also, as to the albondigas, sounds delicious, if I ate meat I'd look into it :P

Well, you see, Lincoln had this here burrito on Saturday:
El Gran Burrito!
It is a joy that stays with you for a while.
(Notice that the burrito is cut out on the left side of the picture. It was too big to fit in frame.)

I usually cook my tortillas on a cast iron griddle, you can cook more at a time that way. Open flame gives them a great flavor though.

posted by Fonne Tayne on April 30th, 2008 11:38 AM

on the open flame question: i'm with you, of course, but in certain townships (vicinities) of the eastern coast, such activity is prohibited by common law. evil, i know.
