and yes, this is actually me. i promise. . . . . . . . this picture was taken with a nikon cool pix 2200 at 3.6 megapixelz, on a summer's morn radiant with bright, angular sunbeams. it was late last year, when i opened the garage door to look for spray cans.... reaching up for my caps i slipped and fell through the sump pump. my trusty sidekick branquelo dove in after me without a moment's hesitation. we slid down the mossy tunnel feet first, yrs truly screaming horrendous, unrepeatable things, until splashing out into a pool of frothy suds. swept away by the rushing force of a mountainously violent river, my body slammed against a rock eighteen times my mass, and leaving me to slip into fetal unconsciousness. awaking on a sandbar above a short cliff, i found myself unable to return upstream, the only choice being the brief cliff face below, made of slick black stone, moss and brush, save not a quercus as my aid. branquelo was close behind, having navigated successfully the rock, sand, and water. diving being his nature, he leapt, arms askew, into the pool meters below. unhurt, he exited to a vantage point and snapped this shot of yrs truly, cowardly yet safely descending the staircase on the cliff. not being familiar with my nikon, branquelo was unable to focus on the subject of the frame. we made it home, but only after being attacked by river rats with orange eyes.
