Tasmania has almost always been fox free. A few years ago some foxes snuck aboard a ship and came over here. Ever since we've been trying to eradicate these few foxes. I'm pretty sure that they're dead by now but you never know. Our ecology is pretty delicate at the moment so foxes can become a real pest.
