The translation was no problem -- Waldo had been translated for 28 foreign nations; it was the writing that puzzled him. You see, Waldo only apparently knows enough of the 28 other languages to rewrite his name (as Wally for instance), and there is still speculation as to whether he is always lost because of an inability to read the maps he can occasionally be seen puzzling over.
