![]() download file Everyone who visits Easter Island wants to see the moai, but apparently not everyone has the sense to stay off of them (as the story of a visitor who broke off an earlobe from one statue demonstrates). As tourism rapidly increases, efforts to protect the attractions from their audience have been necessary. Ironically, having these sorts of signs up in some places can give people the idea that it's ok to walk on the moai in different places where there isn't a sign. |
