In Great Yarmouth there is an odd tradition. On Sunday people drive from their warm homes and leave behind all their lovely technology to sit in their car on Marine Parade looking out over the Outer Harbour construction site and eating ice cream. I remember doing this as a child with my dad and it is still as popular as ever. The number of cars that passed me was astonishing, this was Sunday afternoon and all of the industrial premises were closed but there was a steady stream of cars just 'out for a drive'.
