Burn Unit's Favorite Praxis
I remade the interior of a port-o-potty to look like a bachelor pad. I didn't realize this task was collaborative only, so I added becki is neat and Maze Designer because they provided moral support and creative input. I hope no one minds because I...
Look closer... Closer.....CLOSER Upon briefly pondering the importance magnitude of uploading a single picture by which to introduce myself to both my own teammates and all the rest of you players, it was pretty clear that not just any old picture w...

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.&quo...

This task simultaneously intrigued and confounded me when first I saw it. I thought, "What is Burn Unit smoking?" So of course I had to do it because it made my brain do contortions to figure out a completion with which I would be satisfied...

The Dragon Curve. Objectively the prettiest of the simple fractals. Protagonist of Jurassic Park. Therefore an obvious choice for painting on Doktor Harmon and JJason's apartment wall. First, we modeled it with toothpicks for practice: Hmm, t...

COMMENT: What happens when you make a comment on a favorite? Does it show up in your friend's command centers? Does it show up on the task? In your history? I don't know. I've never tried it. But I do know that this task is the stuff. Extract of the stuff, even. Very highly refined. Street value must be enormous. So, if these comments do show up somewhere other than here and draw some additional attention to it, then that's a good thing.
And you know, I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool if the task itself showed a count of how many people have favorited it? Then a favorite would serve the same function as a super-vote, but without all the score-keeping complications. You could even pick out the really awesome low score tasks from past eras by sorting on favorites, which would make vote inflation a little less painful for us old fogies.
Then again, the cornucopia that is SSI has done so many nice things for us in the last few months that asking for more is pretty rude. "Dear Uncle Joe, thank you for the house, the bail money, the kidney, introducing me to my wife, saving mom's life last week during the burglary attempt, and the box of hand made chocolates you sent. Can I borrow fifty bucks? I spent my paycheck on liquor and video peep-shows again."

Preparation Rainy: I wanted to do this task, because I like water. After some thought (and discussion with pre-school teacher friend), I decided that ice shapes with some natural food tint coloring in them was the way to go. Ice sculpture! Obviously...
