Journey to the End of the Night DC by miss understanding

May 4th, 2008 11:57 AM

INSTRUCTIONS:

The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.

For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.

If you participated in the Journey in any way (as a player, chaser, or volunteer), please post your story here. Tell us a story of Danger. Fear. Drive. Craftiness. Power. Adventure!

The more thorough you are, the better. If you have photographs, please include them! Even better, draw your experience! Describe your chases, the people you met, what you thought of the route, the checkpoints, and how you perceived the city.

Thanks,
Spidere

This morning I woke up...
I dreamt that I found myself in the nation's capital...
I was there for...
The task was...
When the night began...
At the checkpoints...
On my journey...
We stopped by some of the memorials...
At some of the checkpoints...
Origami was left behind...
By this time...
During our adventure...
There were many wonderful secret agents...
Finally...
Tired and sweaty and filthy...
And then, as I rolled out of bed...

This was a fantastic, amazing night. I'm really glad you made it. This was a great writeup--it was absolutely a night full of superheroes. I'm glad to see some good checkpoint photos, too!

(200 more email addresses to decipher and type in...and then start on my own writeup... I'm tempted to tell other people's incredible stories, of which there are many--but I should give them a chance to put them up first. :)

Thanks so much!

I am really glad I ended up being able to do it. My acupuncturist helped a lot with my not feeling so well and you helped to actually get me down there. Kudos to you for putting such a great event together and having a turn out that was way beyond anything I expected to see! I hope that some of those folks will find their way over to this site and get roped in. I can't wait to hear everyone else's stories.
