The new house I've moved into has a disused barbecue/concrete-thing in the far corner of the backyard.
The backyard is quite big, and a gorgeous pair of kangaroos (a mum and a little joey) come in and nibble our grass most days.

The barbecue was covered in ivy and filled with old rubbish. The house-mate who has been here a while says it was overgrown even when she moved in.

After pruning the tree back and waging war on the ivy, I started digging around inside the barbie.
I unearthed:
a crumpled plastic bucket

some pieces of rusted cans

a plastic lunchbox

a mismatched lid

bits of non-descript rubbish, chunks of styrofoam, dirt

I didn't find anything museum-worthy, but i did uncover clues about the rubbish disposal habits of long-gone tenants. Looking forward to using the bbq in the summer...
