Journey To The End Of The Night: St. Paul 2011

Added September 29th 2011 @ 9:53 am

The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.

For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.

After you participate in Journey St. Paul, please post your adventure in detail here! Tell the world how awesome you became in your transit of our fair city. How the city became ours again. How you tasted the sweet kiss of concrete beneath your feet, your heart in your throat, your chest a white flame.

Journey To The End Of The Night Los Angeles: Five Years Running

Added by Lincøln May 4th 2012 @ 2:34 pm

The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.

For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.

A thrilling pursuit through the heart of Los Angeles. No skates, no bikes, no cars; just your own two feet and public transportation. Bring some water, possibly a camera, and comfortable shoes (or maybe no shoes) - leave everything else at home.

If you participated in the Los Angeles Fifth Anniversary Journey on 5-5-12, in any way, be it as Runner, Chaser, Documentarian or Check Point Volunteer please tell us your story.

Yes, please, take lots of pictures, or draw some, if you have no camera. Tell us your tale of adventure, be as detailed as you can.

Tell us your impressions of the route, the people you meet, and your perceptions of the city.

Added by Lank June 27th 2007 @ 10:50 pm

Be inspired by this website to make some hidden art in a place that is not your own.

To clarify, secretwalltatoos.com displays works of art (paintings and drawings) that lie hidden behind objects such as mirrors, photographs, and paintings. Hiding such art - on the wall, and not in your home or place or business - is your goal

Added by Blue October 23rd 2007 @ 8:10 pm

The future changes radically from one year to the next.

Every generations future is different.
What people thought the year 2000 would look like in 1950
is gravely different from what people thought it would look like in 1980.

Document how your life would look different if you lived in the future of the past.

Prevent The Cloning Of Ian Kizu-Blair

Added January 14th 2011 @ 10:23 am

Rubin Starset, world traveler and that guy who hates it, has stolen a sample of Ian Kizu-Blair's hair. He claims that he will, "clone and sell the poor boy off to future SF0 collectors after the site finally goes offline because all the engineers have died of alcohol poisoning" at the hands of Bubblesort.

Your task is to retrieve Ian's hair — at any cost! — to prevent Rubin from creating this clone. He is taunting us all with clues posted to an event; these will be his undoing!

Tourist Infiltration

Added by Ben Yamiin August 3rd 2008 @ 4:48 pm

Infiltrate the tourist industry in your city.

Pack enough for a night and a day and head to a transportation hub, like an airport, train station or bus stand. Head into the city and rent a room or bed at a hotel or hostel. Stay the night, and the next day, indulge yourself in the tourist activities of your city.

Conglomerate with other tourists as much as possible.

Do not, for any reason whatsoever, reveal that you are a local or anything but a tourist.

1000 Small (Heavy) Things

Added October 26th 2005 @ 12:00 am

Buy or acquire 1000 small, and if possible heavy things. Bolts or nuts (including the edible kind) would be good. Transport them to a public space (preferably carpeted) and drop them on the ground. You may drop them all in one place, or you may drop them slowly, perhaps forming a trail of some kind. If anyone harasses you, apologize profusely and then leave.
