I've been working out ways to do this with Catan for ages, with actual terrain. Monmey is a serious issue, but other than that, this would be epic this summer.
The gummies would like to see this done in a parking lot, with cars as the chess pieces. They would do it themselves, but motor vehicles are not scaled properly for gummy drivers.
