Tasks / Journey To The End Of The Night London

This task is retired.

A pursuit across London in 6 parts.

The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.

For one night, drop your relations, your work and leisure activities, and all your usual motives for movement and action, and let yourself be drawn by the attractions of the chase and the encounters you find there.

No bikes, no cars, just feet and public transportation.

Document your experience.

I feel i should probably elaborate a little more on this taskevent.

The Journey To The End of the Night London already happened on May 11th, as part of Hide and Seek, Londons first pervasive games festival. Run with the permission of Sam, Sean and Ian (Annoyingly we couldnt scrape together enough funding to fly them over, this time around.)
The Journey and the other games at the festival netted SF0 several new players so i feel it was certainly a worthy venture.
And of course with all Journey To The end Of The Nights, here the people who played it can record their own journeys.

I love it. If SF0 is going to continue to grow, it'll need to spread/organized like this. Hell yeah.

oooooh I get it

I just read all three of the praxis and now I get it. I am of the opinion that you should really rewrite this task.

I enjoyed reading the task thinking that I would have to stumble all over my town (LA) on foot or public transportation, leaving behind all my motives, friends and avoiding the pitfalls of bars or nightlife.

BUT that's not what this is now is it? It's a city wide game of tag organized with rally points, safe areas, set chasers and runners not to mention other rules that are not written in your description.

Am I being a total bummer? sorry. I'll shut up now.

Hmm yes i do see your point. I was keen to make sure the london journey was as close to the original, the manhattan, and the brooklyn, so keeping the same text seemed right. But as were in a new era and have a huge influx of new players who arent familiar with the shenanigans of the impossible exchange..

Then again.. what am i saying.. if you did run through LA.. stumbling over town and so forth.. id vote for you! Do it!

Excuse me for going a bit into some history before talking of the actual journey. I feel this whole event must have come a little out of the blue for most SFZero players so a bit of a tale is in order to fill in the blanks. I met Alex at Journey To ...
