In case no one's noticed, this is kind of an everyday thing for me. ;)
I'd feel a bit odd doing this myself, because I submitted it, but this is something I've wanted to do for a while now.
There's absolutely no reason not to do the tasks you propose. After all, why would you have submitted it if it didn't sound fun to you?
Having no knowledge of electronics beyond flipping a switch to turn on a light, I took a different meaning from this task's instructions... Is that allowed?
Of course. SFØ is based on interpretation of the task, interpret it as you wish.
