Tasks / Misuse Of Maps

This task is retired.

Navigate a city or region using maps that do not represent that space.
For example, you can use a map of Central Park to traverse Loving County, Texas, or a map of the London Underground to find your way through SF MOMA.

Compare your expectations with your experiences.

I was shocked - shocked - and, frankly, embarrassed that there wasn't just such a BARTpa task, yet. Kudos, et al.

maybe misuse isn't the right word.

I once used the London Underground map to navigate London aboveground. It was certainly possible, but involved walking well out of my way in several occasions since the map is abstracted to make the lines and stations readable.

For this task I shall navigate Champaign-Urbana, IL using XKCD's Map of Online Communities and Related Points of Interest. http://xkcd.com/256/ It clearly says "do not use for navigation," so this makes it an ideal choice for misuse of...

Misuse of Maps by JJason Recognition March 19th, 2008 2:56 PM

If I hadn't been able to dérive in the lifeless, soulless, highway fueled outer-ring shopping arcologies for some reason, my close second choice for locations of intense Psychogeographic weirdness in the Twin Cities would definitely be the skyway s...

Currently, I'm extremely bored. Originally I intended to travel to Ireland at least for St. Patrick's Day, but unfortunatly I'm completely broke. I didn't want to sit around at home all day, so I thought, if I can't go to Ireland, Ireland has to come...
