Tasks / Misuse Of Maps

Navigate a city or region using maps that do not represent that space.
For example, you can use a map of Central Park to traverse Loving County, Texas, or a map of the London Underground to find your way through SF MOMA.

Compare your expectations with your experiences.

I was shocked - shocked - and, frankly, embarrassed that there wasn't just such a BARTpa task, yet. Kudos, et al.

I once used the London Underground map to navigate London aboveground. It was certainly possible, but involved walking well out of my way in several occasions since the map is abstracted to make the lines and stations readable.

If I hadn't been able to dérive in the lifeless, soulless, highway fueled outer-ring shopping arcologies for some reason, my close second choice for locations of intense Psychogeographic weirdness in the Twin Cities would definitely be the skyway s...

At this point I feel like I kind of have two homes, one at school and one where I grew up. I decided to compare these two by using a map of the area around my school in Somerville, Massachusetts to navigate around the area behind my house in Oakham, ...

See video for full praxis. This is the map we used. http://www.questforcalatia.net/Zelda3C/images/hyrule-map.jpg As for expectations vs. experiences, (not included in the video), I guess we didn't expect it to work as well as it did. Kind of frigh...
