So, I actually had the intention of eating sushi for my food that frightens me, for two reasons. I know this sounds boring, but bear with me. First of all, I hate fish of every kind. I don't eat fish, I don't eat any seafood except for kalimari. Reason two, all raw meat-like substances freak me out. I can cook with them, I can touch them, that's fine. The minute it gets near my face, however, I just lose it.
What I ended up eating was actually an accident, and I certainly wouldn't have eaten it if I had known, but I suppose it makes a good story now that it's over.
I was actually at a retreat and a friend told me I should eat this thing called a dolma (I'm unsure if I spelled that right), which i think is Greek. I wasn't so excited about the grape leaves, but I thought, "You know, why not? What's it going to hurt?" My life is what it hurt, as it turns out. I had an allergic reaction to the cilantro in the dolma and my tongue started to swell up. Thankfully it was a minor reaction, it didn't spread to my throat, and I survived the ordeal, but I thought it would be a good experience to use for this.
I ate a dolma, and now I am scared of it, because I know what it will do to me!
