Well there aren't many strange, edible vegetations at, or around my house, so i opted for a green bell pepper. The Green Bell Pepper, isn't in fact a green pepper at all. Though it's color may be green, they are actually an unripened red bell peppers. That is why red bell peppers are sweeter. The scientific name for the bell pepper is, Capsicum annuum, and the family is Solanaceae. Another thing about Bell peppers is that they are fruit, not vegetables as most people may think. Florida, Texas, and California are the highest bell pepper producers in the country, and they hand harvest the peppers after 60-90 days after trans-planting. Bell peppers require warm, humid climates to grow, and can be eaten raw, grilled, or any other way you please. Bell pepper nutrition facts are as follows:
