Mistakes Happen by Rubin Starset

INSTRUCTIONS: Think of an important mistake you made in the past, and make it again.

Images should say it all.

Mistake: Addiction to massive games. Half a year on Everquest, two years on Asheron's Call, half a year on SWG, a few months on WoW, some really bad betas in between. I'd go to work, come hope, play, sleep. There was a moment in time where I would bring my own 3d graphics card in order to play it work. There was always this Drive to do as much as I can in the game, and do to it in ways where others couldn't. But massives like the ones I listed weren't really all that open ended, no video game is. Quitting massives (about a year ago) and video games all together (about 7 months ago) has been one of the best things I've done in a long time.

I had beaten my addiction. Didn't bring my graphics card to work anymore, could get sleep, and do other things in life.

Happening again: I am now a part of (addicted to) one of the most amazing open ended games ever. Thinking too much about how to complete more tasks, can't sleep, want to get out of work quicker, only want to be with friends who also play. The Drive is back, stronger then ever, being part of something truly massive.

A better direction.
A better mistake.
A newer mistake.

Oh yes. We know all about the sf0 addiction. Any time Oliver gets anywhere near a computer he asks if he can check if he's "still winning."
