Find Shelter In Enemy Territory by Rubin Starset

July 3rd, 2006 8:54 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Sleep outside an opposing group's territory. Try to find a location that affords you the best shelter.

Play the mp3s, view some of the photos. This was an experience that sucked, staying on the streets, but at the same time it's something I don't regret doing, experience that I will keep with me to the end of days. Based off what I felt that night, I've created this new task.

Not going to say who's territory I was spending my night around, if they wish they're more then welcome to reveal this information. There isn't isn't much I'd like to say right now, as I'm still reviewing that night through my mind. If anything does I'll be sure to add it here.

Took the person in question out for food the next morning, was kind nice telling them about my past night. Before that happened I needed to get some sleep, some place warm. I got on Bart going North, getting about 20 minutes of sleep, then another 20ish going back down to Berkeley.

hardcore.

ok, i'm sorry, if sleeping on the streets of berkeley doesn't deserve some sort of props, i don't know what does. Rubin, you should totally tell everyone who's territory that was!

I could totally post to everyone where you live, the fact that I'm writing this while sitting on your futon makes it even more funnier. Let's go get some food man.

baby did a bad bad thing...

so woke up the other day, and went outside to check to see if the parking nazis had chalked my car and there was a tired looking rubin sitting on my stoop.

"uh..hey rubin," says i.

"i did a bad thing," he says, "but i'm going to make it up to you by buying you breakfast!"

heck. i think this whole buying-the-poor-monkey-a-meal-after-you-complete-some-nasty-task-to-her-detriment-thing is a great idea.

(Oliver- you owe me about a months worth of free lunches!)

I'm voting for two reasons:

1) The MP3s seem to be sped up for me? Rubin sounds like a chipmunk. It amuses me to think that Rubin spent all night on the streets breathing helium.

2) Rubin, at 1833 points, you're seven points away from Level 7. And you're not jumping on a low-level task. Geez, man. I thought your character wasn't supposed to miss an opportunity? Ding, you're welcome. :)

Thank you Jason, thank you. When I get home I was really planning on doing Six (or more) Degrees of Kevin Bacon, since I know no one's done that task yet.

how???

How did this task get awarded 146 points? this number is not divisable by 5 at all!

Votes cast during Impossible Exchange were worth different amounts depending on what level the person casting them was. Five points was one possible number, but no other possibility is divisible by 5.

Ohhhh

Actually, votes at the time varied based on the level of the task completed - a vote for a level 5 task completion was worth more than a vote for a level 2 task.

Ah.

This is what happens when you play Telephone with the history of the game.

Got it. Thanks.
