Everyone Can Draw by Ation Song

January 21st, 2007 10:48 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: In america there seems to be a feeling that art is for the specialists. In our little Bay filled with artistically based industries and universities, this feeling is even more acute. The crisis aims to combat this hating ass force which aims to prostrate you before the drawings of the initiated. This task will make you realize how easily you can come up with a really fresh drawing.

1) either at a used store, garage sale or from your home, locate a framed picture with glass

2) remove everything but the glass from the frame and secure the glass into it, creating a window.

3) locate washable markers, wet erase markers or dry erase markers.

4) trace the world into your little window, maybe uniting ulinkey parts of your world into one composition.

maybe move on to your real windows, your mirrors your windshield, a shop window .... la la la etc.

This task must be completed with photographically based support and may or may not be completed with red bob ross wig.

Okay, first I'll go through the order of how I did this task:

1) I have a bunch of movie-board shaped picture frames left over that I once used as party favors. I ripped off the backing, and, viola! Ready for this task.

2) For the things that I was drawing, I chose the classic still-life: a bowl of fruit

3) Armed and ready, I drew the fruit on the frame.

I'd like to say that this task was pretty horrible to do by the way, and here's why:

1) Washable markers do not write well on plastic, and are actually virtually impossible to use to do art

2) People were not made to write on something in front of them, as they have about one ninth of the motor skills they use when writing on something on a desk

3) Even with a guide, I'm not a very good artist.
