Ask a Dumb Question by K!

May 20th, 2007 10:14 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: During a conversation, when someone brings up a word, concept, reference, or person that you don't know but would normally pretend to know about, ask them about it.

I'm a musician, but I don't consider myself a well-educated one. Usually I try to fake knowledge. However, keeping this task in mind, I decided to ask a dumb question. This came up in an AIM conversation with a fellow SF0 member, and we were discussing the Deaf Performing task:

Ziggy: If I had a djembe, I would definitely find a waterfall and make a recording of how I visually interpret the water falling.
Me: What is a djembe?
Ziggy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Djembe
Me: I feel like I've seen one of these before.
12:50 AM
Ziggy: They're pretty common..

Well, if you don't know what one is either, you can go to the site, but the short of it is, a djembe is a drum. The moral of the story is, when you ask dumb questions, you can often get less dumb! Yay!
