UPDATE: A little late on this update, but after we did this task something amazing happened. A week after we put up our notes, I was walking to school and I notice there was a new not attached to the fence.
Here it is with our letters and the stoop

It says "Stoop, We had coffe here in '63. I made deliveries to your docks in the good old days. Like the rest of my city you fall into old age - arrested decay. It is Bohly so sad. I promise to clean the poop from your stoop until you are no more. Love ya, Steve & Family"
Then on the top it reads "No poop on the stoop!"
The letter is written on a printed out photograph of a dog walking across the pattern someone copied off the stoop and painted on the sidewalk infront of it, which you can see better here:
This made this whole task so worth it. It made me cry when I first read it, and even though our origional letters were a bit silly, this from the heart ode to the stoop was something I was really glad I helped inspire.
The letters all fell off eventually, the dead flowers died even more, and now the stoop sits alone in the lot. I've never seen poop on it though, so I know it's still loved.
Origional task:
Down the street from my apartment, in a vacant lot, there is a glimmer of beauty that surpasses all others.
My gorgeous stoop!
For years I've admired it's tiles, it's grace, and the fact that it doesn't really lead up to anything. It stands alone. No building required.
So since in a couple of months old stoopy will be torn down to make room for a commercial complex, my friends and i decided to honor it, in all it's stoopy glory.

I think I have fallen in love with it too?!
And now that I know of my love I also know that it is doomed.
Whatever shall I do!?
Aww, I heart that very same stoop. Hoorays!
