Spread SF0 by Delenalla Lexaria

September 5th, 2007 2:03 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Spread SF0 in some way, shape or form. It can be online, on the streets, any way you like.

It took me an a while to come up with an idea I really liked. The first Idea I had that I liked was to get a bouncy ball, write SF0 on it and leave it in the park down the street. Thus spreading the word. However, when I got to the store there were no bouncy balls. I sifted through dozens of other kinds of balls, usually with cartoon pictures covering them completely, until I found one I deemed to be perfect. Upon bringing it home I discovered that the ball glowed in the dark, and concluded that people would be able to learn about SF0 even if it was dark out. Then the task came for writing on it. I used a black sharpie and wrote SF0 on one of its blank sides. Then I thought, Someone might find the ball and keep it, then the word would only be spread to one person, or they would put it in a lost and found. In which case it would probably end up being no one, so on the other blank space on the ball I wrote ‘Pass me on’ That way there could be no confusion as to what should happen with the ball, and it would ensure maximum spread throughout the land. I then went to the nearest park and deemed it wrong for the situation. The park is often visited by younger kids, and every morning gardeners go through and mow the grass. The kids who visit the park are usually between the ages of 4-11. I decided I wanted a wider range of ages, that way there was a better chance for someone to pick it up and actually pass it on. The next park I went to was equally disappointing. I deemed it wrong despite the variety of ages throughout the park, simply because there was a lot of broken glass inside increasing the chance for ball injury. The third and last park I visited was by far the best. Having both a park for older and younger kids, a basket ball court and tennis courts near by, as well as a rest area for those who require it, it’s facilities alone indicated that the park was well ranged in age groups. Leaving the ball under an empty roofed area to protect it from weather and give it maximum visibility I left the park empty handed.
