Dogmatics 101: Know Why by Moss

September 24th, 2006 1:07 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Do you think dogma means rigid authoritarian beliefs? Time for Dogmatics 101!

Karl Barth writes "Dogmatics is the science in which the Church, in accordance with the state of its knowledge at different times, takes account of the content of its proclamation critically..."

Critically account for what you believe and say by enumerating some or all of your beliefs and describing where they come from and what they mean.

I believe we are each the universe experiencing itself subjectively. I also believe we ought to make that whole experience more varied, to make it worth the while. There's really not any logic behind that, at least that I know of/understand. Blame it on the shrooms I took in college or growing up in a hippy town, that's just what currently makes sense to me.

I believe, because we're all the same thing, I ought to act as though that was the case. I also believe that doesn't turn out very nicely for anyone sometimes. I don't necessarily treat myself terribly nicely from time to time, and I certainly don't always treat other people/things too nicely.

I believe I'd also like to take a nap.
