Tom's Experiences
The Number 2 bus
This is the regular bus I get to school, It stops just down the road from me, it runs every 20mins (peak) and to get to school on time, I have to catch it at 7:35. Oh, and it's full of 'rival' students from other schools. Not good. Infact, my sister was once chased off the bus and all the way to school by them; welcome to friendly Great Yarmouth!
Anyway, since this incident, my sister and her friends catch this bus for about 5 minutes, then get off and swap buses. Me, being terribly lazy, of course don't. And carry on unhindered reading my book and listening to some nice early morning rock. However, today I decided to get off with my sister and co, on account of the trance music blasting from the back of the bus (unfortunately it wasn't a remote control bus rave). What bus do I find they get on?
The Number 6
So I immediately whipped out my camera, and started documenting my experience with the number 6 bus line.
The first thing I noticed was that it was on the whole, emptier than the 2. Only one bunch of students rather than 3. Just a few commuters and elderly people traveling to the abundance of old people's homes and day centres that make up Bradwell. That was nice, you managed to get a seat, which you need at that time in the morning. Also none of us received any hassle from any of the other bus-ees, that too was nice too. Also, this bus gets to the school quicker, so I could afford to get a later bus, but the closest it stops to me is the main bus station of Yarmouth, and to get there on foot it'd take the same time as getting the other bus.
I decided this bus needed further investigation, and decided to get it again the following day.
Adam's Experience
I woke up this morning at around 10am to be confronted (at around 12) by a Skype message from Tom. I was at a gig the night before and sincerely tired and it seems that the Number 6 bus route wouldn't demand much physical energy. I walked into town for the 12:45 service and arrived at about 12 to get a sandwich from M&S, they had egg and bacon, great for a vegetarian. Next I walk to outside McDonalds to wait for Tom and then I was going to get some lunch, unfortunately Tom was taking the piss late.
So he finally got there with 5 minutes to spare so we made a dash for the bus and it was empty. Hoorah. We sat at the back and discussed television, sfzero, Ben, Bradwell, school, college, work, computers, ipods, etc. The bus left and I was rather shocked as it didnt go down Gorleston High Street, most buses do, instead it turned off towards Bradwell and made its way past Tom's school and past my college. Past Ben's house, Daryl's house and onwards. Some elderly types got on and a couple and we made our way back to Yarmouth. When we arrived back we had infact gone nowhere and were right back where we started. So we went to a car park for task to be revealed at a later date.

Ahh well on the back of the bus was a massive advert which was something along the li(n)es of "We Love Great Yarmouth" and it had a picture of a man on it. Thing is from the inside you can only see this if you look at it from an angle giving the impression of a ghost.
And yeah M&S does nice sarnies and Pret is the best but there is no Pret in Yarmouth :(
No Pret, no Starbucks, no Waterstones, no Subway, no Burger King, no Pizza Express, no Costa Coffee, no Borders, no HMV, no Zavvi, no Topman, no Primark, no Monsoon, no JOY, no Debenhams, no ...
well not many decent shops
Yeah, where's Mouse been?
I wasn't into the whole community aspect yet when Mouse was active.
And egg and bacon'll do me fine any day :D
But that sandwich counter photo does make me laugh!
But we do have an abundance of tat stores!
Anyone wanna trade for a Waterstones?
I didn't realise you could trade real shops for tat shops. That explains Oxford Street. : P
I heard tell that Mouse had been struck down with the Red Death. What remains of his tattered soul attends the perpetual revels of Prince Prospero's Palace.
That and Uni stuff.
COME BACK MOUSE!! at least for JTTEOTNL 2
Ah.
Will there be a return of all of Londonø back as a group at some point?
You're awesome!
That's Løndøn to you, sir.
And yes, JTTEOTNL 2 is a must.
JTTEOTNL 2 will be awesome!
There are quite a few UK players too, should be fun.
Nice secrets, seems that bus was a good find. Care to elaborate on the ghost?
I have yet to find my local no. 6 bus and when I do I'll have to ride it alone. : ( I miss Mouse.
Also, M&S best sandwich retailer in Britain? Bollocks are they. Vegetarians: Head to Pret. : D
