"The Nemesis"

Friday I wanted to sell some old poetry books. So I go to this wonderful cramped little second-hand bookstore where the man I've always considered to be my nemesis works.

When I get there, he says he doesn't buy books on Fridays. But he then says he'll “make an exception” for me. Out of my eleven books, he buys three and gives me eleven bucks. He'd taken my name down in his log; then he says in an exaggerated tone of awe--

“OH-ho-OH,--thee famous poet, **** *********!
"Oh?" I say, caught off-guard, "You mean to tell me there's a poet by the name of **** *********?" (My name's uncommon). He seems disappointed.
"Givin' up on Blake, eh" he smirks.
"Mmm-yes. Blake's a leftover from my middle school years. I carried it around trying to gain intellectualism by proxy..." He busts out laughing.
"Middle school, huh...well, I guess nobody wanted to talk to you huh."

He then gives hands me the eleven bucks and reminds me he doesn't buy books on Fridays. (HA! Nemesises! (Nemeses). Gotta love em').
