Journey to Treasure Island by Erik Ogan, Chachi
July 2nd, 2006 10:16 PM
Saturday evening Erik the Plaid and I journeyed to Treasure Island. We weren't sure at first if you could drive through the gates, but upon reading the signs and noting that there was no one in the security booth we decided to risk it and just drive in. I'm happy to report that we weren't questioned at all.
We combined this task with "The Things We Bury For Our Friends," so I can't go into too much detail about where we went. But we did drive around and see some creepy looking abandoned buildings. We were able to spend some time watching the pelicans and other sea birds dive for fish just over the breaker from where we were standing. That was pretty neat.
The island is a strange mixture of normal residential houses, government buildings in various states of decay, and unsettling signage about the dangers contained within the buildings. Erik was able to get a number of photos of the things we saw.
