Multi-Tasking by Chachi, Erik Ogan

July 22nd, 2006 1:54 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Perform at least 3 tasks simultaneously.

Last night, Erik the Plaid and I went to the old Sutro Baths to photograph the sunset.

While waiting for the sun to set I realized that the old baths would be a perfect example of Disobedient Nature.

After taking some pictures of the baths, I realized that if we Kissed and Made it Real, we'd have done three tasks at once!

The drive for score is strong with this one...

Thanks!

It's a little over-exposed, but I love long exposures like that, and I was pleasantly surprised by the color(s) of the water.

I meant to ask, how'd you do make this photo? What sort of dig-cam and setting? Tripod?

I've had it as my desktop for few days now.

@cameron: A Canon DSLR. It was a 30sec. exposure (pulled one stop), and I thought the aperture was closed about halfway, but the EXIF data tells me I'm wrong (f/5.6, not open all the way, but closer to it than what I remember). Absolutely used a tripod, though you could get a similar result propping the camera on the ledge.

I've gone back "re-exposed" the house (I love RAW camera images for exactly this reason) and it's less blown out. I like it a lot better. A larger (more suited for use as a desktop) version can be found here. :-)

Thanks!

I just got a new digcam, and I've been playing with it. I don't have quite the control that your model has, but I found a good approximation of that technique.
