Dream About Another Player by Gadget
November 9th, 2006 12:33 PM
Last night I dreamt that I was at Burning Man where the theme was "the wild west". There was one spectacular block lined entirely with structures that made it look like a ghost town (except for the masses of freakishly dressed people). It was the day before the burn and I had been participating in a week long scavenger hunt collective where each day teams of people assembled to solve a different person's scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt that I was working on was entirely token based. You had to go to solve riddles to find the different places where your could trade up your current token for the next token and each token held a new clue. Anyway, I recall swaggering across the street to a kitchen where burnunit, dressed in a pristine white professional chef's outfit and sporting a huge back furry mustache, was cooking up some wild west stew . I approached him, gave him my token, and he gave me a bowl of stew. He told me that the next clue was at the bottom of the bowl. I remember tasting the stew and finding it to be awful (and thinking how novel it was that an intentionally awful stew was part of the puzzle). I also remember having a major dilemma about what to do with the stew. I needed the next puzzle piece, but I had no way of disposing of the stew (and I wasn't able to dump it out because it was Burning Man (leave no trace)).
What a random dream. In thinking about it today, I'm not sure why burnunit was in my dream (and why he was the only recognizable person in my dream). In fact, if I passed him on the street in real life, I doubt that I'd recognize him.
