Work is So Strange by Gadget
May 11th, 2006 5:43 PM
As I was leaving work late yesterday evening, I found that some crows had taken up residence outside our office building. Well... maybe the word "some" is an understatement. There was a large murder of crows and they seemed to be swarming. There were crows on every tree and lightpost, and they filled the entire ledge of the adjacent building, looming and cawing loudly. More crows filled the parking lot and they waded through puddles left by the afternoon sprinklers. I stopped in my tracks and took shelter behind the big glass door of my office building. There was nobody else around and for a moment, I had a flashback to Alfred Hitchcock's, The Birds. As I stared out the window for a while trying to come up with a plan to get to my car, I discovered what the crows were up to. The trees in front of our building are sporting some sort of round, bright red and orange fruit and the crows are feasting. As eeire as the scene was, my biggest fear wasn't the Birds, it was getting to my car without being bombed or stepping in bird slime. That was strange and not what I expected on an otherwise ordinary day at work.
But hey, congrats on hitting level 4!
