This was just one of the dozen or so clue markers left around Burning Man's Black Rock City for the playa task. There is no better audience of potential sf0 players than at Burning Man.
Additionally, the SF0 playa task was listed in the Burning Man 2006 "What Where When" guide and on the online playa calendar.

did anyone else ever complete 13 steps from nowhere? I enjoyed that one, although was thrown off by a big arrow pointing to the letter N on the ground at one point, which was not, in fact, pointing North...
That's a really beautiful picture. I wish I could have been there.
