Recycleable fashion by Daniel

September 28th, 2008 4:20 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make clothing out of trash. Simply wearing clothes found in the trash, however, would be rather boring.

For this task I decided to make a vest out of bubble wrap and a plastic bag. I also decided that even though it is not junk I had to use duck tape for something like this. Since I was planning to where it to school I used a plastic bag with Lane Tech on it.
When I finished it I wore it to school. The two most common question I was asked was what is that and why are you wearing that. To the question what is that I responded with Recyclable Fashion and to why I responded with because I can. If the person continued to talk to me I told them about this task and this site. Who knows maybe some of them will join us. The first time I wore it no teacher said anything but the second time one teacher nodded in approval and another asked why. A couple of amusing incidents was one person asked me why am I not popping any of the bubbles and during class reached and popped a bubble a couple of times. The other was when I was going to talk to a friend I pass in the hall. She was talking to someone I don’t know so I was waiting for them to finish talking when she said bubble wrap and came over and started popping bubbles and her friend followed and started popping bubbles. They stood there popping bubbles for a little while still talking to each other then I asked if they were having fun to which my friend said of course this is bubble wrap its awesome and the other person said I don’t even know you and this is fun. The day after I did not where it and quite a few people asked me what happened to the bubble wrap so I have decided to wear it once a week.

I'd have given you more points if you had pictures of you wearing it at school...
