Six (or more) Degrees of Kevin Bacon's rock band by Peter Hentges

Listening to Pandora at work it seemed all too easy to go from my current blues-centered station to any current rock or alternative artist. So then it occured to me: Try to get from a favorite of mine to a very different sort of performer through their roots in the blues! So I'm starting with Paul Westerberg, legendary frontman of The Replacements (a classic Minneapolis band) and working to get to The Time (famed Minnapolis-sound band featured in Prince's Purple Rain and referenced in Jay and Silent Bob flicks).
So here goes:
1. Paul Westerberg
2. Keith Richards
3. Eric Clapton
4. Buddy Guy
5. Magic Sam
6. Otis Rush
7. Ike Turner
8. Bobbie "Blue" Bland
9. Etta James
10. Aretha Franklin
11. Otis Redding
12. Sam Cooke
13. Smokey Robinson
14. Rick James
15. The Time!

Yesss. People look at me funny when I say that I think Purple Rain is a good movie.
