Pirates Vs. Ninjas by Jackie H

October 31st, 2006 1:39 PM / Location: 38.889897,-77.02467

INSTRUCTIONS: Spend a day being a Pirate or a Ninja. If you are a Pirate - pillage and burn (in that order). If you are a Ninja do something Ninja-y. Remember, it is strictly prohibited to:

1. Kill other players, except in designated player killing areas.
2. Steal valuable possessions from the corpses of already dead players.

I'll admit it--I have neither a pirate nor ninja fetish, and don't exactly "get" why they're so trendy these days (someone please explain). So, this task wasn't too attractive to me. Then I discovered, courtesy of Drinky Cow, that my Zodiac sign is really Icky Ninja. I also remembered that ninjas are associated with the Wu Tang Clan. I booked a trip to Washington, D.C. to visit a friend, and was trying to figure out a task to do in Our Nation's Capital...and decided it would be fun to be a ninja-tourist.

I'm not entirely sure what a day in the life of a real ninja is like, how evil or not evil they are, who they work for, etc., but I do know that they're stealthy and contemplative. These are the characteristics I tried to manifest. What I really learned, though, is that life as a ninja is much more like one long photo shoot. And that ninjas have a heightened sense of phallic imagery.

P.S. This is NOT meant to be some sort of "Halloween Task."

Yeaaah...just...yeaahh...

I'm similarly unimpressed by pirates, ninjas, and other such things but you really made it your own. Ninjas are very brave.
