Alternative Medium Art by Jackie H

September 25th, 2006 9:24 AM / Location: 37.773539,-122.4270

INSTRUCTIONS: Create a Work Of Art using an Alternative, Infrequently Used Medium.

I was hoping to use this collage for the Sexually Originated Art task, but inertia seems to have claimed a temporary victory over me here. Since I made the collage anyway, I figured I should at least get credit for it, in a "Failure" sort of way as this task is worth fewer points.

My alternative/sexually originated medium: the detritus of my birth control pills, plus some cardboard, white paper, and black duct tape. It's supposed to be a landscape.

I don't think it was a failure!

I would have to agree with anna one here. I really like the geometric feel to all of it.

Thanks.

Thanks for your approval. It's not that I think this task is a "failure" per se, since I do really like the collage, but I had intended it for the SOA task and just never got around to the urban anthropology/survey part, which is the part I was excited about. Instead, inertia dominated and the collage sat around my kitchen for months. I do think it works well for the Alternative Medium Art idea, but, you know, I have reason to be irritated with myself here.

I love it. Why isn't this hanging in our house?

Uh, I don't know why not...I'll get it the next time I'm in SF. It's still sitting in the kitchen.
