Language "Encryption" by James Danger

October 9th, 2006 4:28 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Using online translation tools, "encrypt" some text (that you write or find) by translating it multiple times into different languages and then back into English.

For instance, "The drive to play San Francisco Zero" translated from English to German to French to Italian to English again becomes "The order of Saint game Francisco".

Since the things coming out of our President's mouth were confusing to begin with, I thought running a Bushism through Language Encryption might make one of his quotes easier to understand.

The origional:

"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

English to German -

September 2002

Russian to French -

Nashvil', Tenn. Le 17 septembre 2002

French to Spanish -

" Nashvil ', Tenn. El 17 de septiembre de 2002

Back to English -

" To old man, who speaks to Tennessee - I understand that this belongs, probably, in Texas to Tennessee - that one speaks, I durachat, as soon as the shame on - on you shames. Durach ' you of me - cannot again durachit ' sja. " Nashvil ', Tenn. On September 17, 2002

Now I'm even more confused. It looks like the translater didn't even understand what the hell he was talking about.
