Okay, I'll be the first to admit I'm relatively new to SF0, but the impression I've gotten from reading past tasks is that, up til about this past December, the vast majority of players were from either SF area or Minneapolis area. I happened to notice, when browsing the players page recently, that there are now quite a few other places that have multiple players, and many of them quite new. Below is evidence of the ones that I've noticed. I'm going for places that look likely to develop an SF0 community.

I feel I should include myself and Nanthgh, despite the fact that she doesn't have any task completions this era, because I have no intention of letting her get away with apathy, and because I plan to convert as many other people as I can.

Hemmingway Kat and October, in Austin and Houston respectively. Not super close geographically, but they immediately friended each other, and seem to have quite a number of common friends based on some of their comments.

Lastly and with the most members, the West Linn folk. Perhaps I should also include Plain Kate, in Portland, but there is neither super-closeness nor evidence of them knowing each other outside the game.
Extremely honorable mention goes to our dear JiJi. It may well be accurate to say you take the game further than it has ever gone before. But, then again, I don't know the history or player base super well.
My appologies if I've missed another not-SF-not-Minneapolis active group, leave a comment if I have!

I meant to tell you this a long time ago, but kept forgetting.
The West Linn crowd of SF0 is actually larger than that, but I guess most didn't put in their real areas.
Currently the WL crew has 11 members, 8 of which are at least semi-active.
And you are correct, Plain Kate is not a member of us. I actually didn't know someone who lived so close participated.
Ya, I kinda suspected at least a few people would be people I would have paid noted, but for the fact that they didn't include their real location. It's awesome that you have so many folk over there!
Try Ziggy C., TeenTypist, K. Hughes, Aurora, Bubblesort, and myself. :D
We go to school together in PA, although Aurora and I are from NY and TT and KHughes are native Californians. I still think we count though... >.>
True, but you weren't around when I did the task, or at least not all of you.
I lived in the quaint L.A. smogbin of Claremont for seven years! If I'd have known then, I'd have spread SFO far and wide across the valley...
Go see the Sugar Mountain Mama Serenade at the Press for me...
I think the recent ARGfest conference here in SF had something to do with recent growth, and also Conflux in NYC. The lads are hitting their stride in spreading the word.
I can vouch that Plain Kate, a friend of mine for almost a decade, most likely doesn't know the West Linn folk; her joining is because she came down to the Bay Area on a dog-delivery errand and crashed at my place for a couple days, during which we were talking about SF0 and at one point I said, "No, that's it, you're joining," and she did. :)
