Counting by Johnny Frat

July 5th, 2006 10:41 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Count or measure something that has never been counted or measured before. How many CDs can you label with one sharpie? How long does it take for all the ketchup to run out of the bottle? How many times does a trafic light change in an hour? How many licks does it taket to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

What do you wonder about? Find out and let us know.

So, like, oh my god I totally decided to see how many times in a day, like, people used the word "like" in their sentences. Now I, like, didn't count the number of times it got, like, used properly in a sentence. So only, like, instances when it got used as a pause break in a sentence were, like, counted. And the answer is that it got used HELLA times. 95 times in the course of an 11 hour day to be exact ( in the interest of full disclosure- the last eight times came from watching three minutes of "Real World, Road Rules Challenge" on MTV. I turned it off when I realized it would artificially skew the numbers).
