Dream About Another Player by Joshua Kelly
July 31st, 2006 11:27 AM
Does every General dream about the battles ahead of them? Did Patton dream of having coffee with Rommell? These questions are lost to the mists of history.
I had a dream about my Epic Ambush.
The night after casing out the site of where I was laying my trap for Cameron, I had a dream about the attack involving many players I had never met before.
In my dream, I imagined waiting for the players to arrive, before my briefing. I couldn’t find my whistle; I couldn’t find the squirt guns. The sun was very warm and for some reason this was causing the water balloons to burst in their hiding places.
The players began to arrive and I was trying to organize them.
Piraty Monkey and Prank Monkey showed up as actual monkeys. Now I love monkeys but I was worried that Cam would recognize them. They entertained themselves by climbing in the trees and eating the snacks I had brought. I tried to explain that the snacks were for after the attack but they kept screeching at me.
Some other random players showed up and wanted to rent paddle boats, for the paddleboat related task no doubt.
Avidd Opolis, (who wowed me with his solar powered tree) arrived with some kind of water balloon launching trebuchet. In my dream he was a short old man with crazy hair and a beard. He demonstrated the device by punching a small hole in a nearby eucalyptus tree. I informed him this was not a designated player killing area, we were only going to make Cameron very wet, he said he could print up a sign real quick but I told him no.
Soon the time was ready, I gathered the strike team and we went to the original attack location, at the top of the hill in the middle of stow lake. And there we waited.
And waited….
And waited….
And then I woke up.

y'know...i actually considered showing up in my monkey suit (as my disguise/battlegear) but decided against it for the very reason that it would make me too recognizable.
