Giving directions is a pretty simple good deed, and probably commen for Franciscans. But I done did it.

I was riding my bike up the sheer face of the presidio one sunny saturday, and was flagged down by a middle aged couple driving a mini van.

"How do we get on the 101 from here?"

I didn't really know myself, since I ride my bike more than I drive. I asked if they had a map, they had something like an atlas, where SF is represented as a little thumb with several freeways running through it, not helpful.

So I lead them over to a nearby map. Turns out they were kind of screwed. As you might know, you can't get on the 101 from the presidio in a private car. At least not to my knowlage. With all the one way streets and such it took a few tries before I could figure out a good way for them to go. You can see on the map the directions I gave them. I dunno if I helped at all but they seemed pretty grateful.

Hope they made it to Santa Rosa.
