Find something. Write about it. by Julia Green

Today my friend Henry and I explored around an old neighborhood. behind each set of houses are alleys that run for miles and miles. The alley-ways are a great place to go treasure hunting because so many people dump garbage and stuff back there for others to find, or throw away. This time Henry and I chose to search behind an old shut down castle-like church that is now used as housing. I had searched behind the church before not to find too much of interest, but today was gold. The day was a gorgeous 70+ degrees and we had just spent an hour in our favorite park. Things were looking good. The first thing we found in the alley- a little storage shed for a 1950s motorcycle, but the bike was ot of it and the shed was open, revealing old 1950s pinups amongst other nostalgic items. As we continued walking down the alley we stumbeled across an old tv, a stuffed teddy bear, a sneaker/boot, an old orange and green velvet armchair and then discovered separate treasures of our own. Henry picked up a video tape that said "alex" on it. I nudged around in the dirt and found an old Nancy Drew mystery book and a white necklace (pictured below). What a great day for treasure finding! I will update this entry as soon as possible to let you know what was on the videotape!
****the video tape contained, as quoted by henry "an old episode of jay leno with darrel hughley and the cranberries on it. my dad and i watched it and it was much less severe than we imagined it would be, haha."****
