I was up at ucsf waiting on the train. I was doing the usual read something and ignore that the rest of the world exists thing we happen to do, when I saw a girl vomiting into the garbage can on the track. I am thinking that it must have been the flu, because it was well into the afternoon and any hang over vomiting I’ve done that late, I’ve never been able to leave the house. Anyway, she was looking really miserable, and after each successful retch, would wipe her mouth off with her finger. I have a tendency to stash away fast food napkins for emergency situations and so I dug them out, went over to her and handed them to her. You should have seen the look of relief on her face right before she retched again. When she was empty, she did thank me. Perhaps I should also submit this as a craigslist ‘missed connections’ as well…
