INSTRUCTIONS: Photograph a most normal, pedestrian view of the world around you. Crop the photo down to a distinct and beautiful vision. Show us the difference.

I started this task by photographing four things in my house that had some great meaning to me for one reason or another. The cropping was much harder than I anticipated....things that are overly cropped tend to look like the last page of Highlights for Children to me. I made an attempt to avoid that and I think I succeeded on two of them. it took me a good amount of time with the cropping and uncropping rotating and tweaking to get things that I felt alright with. Yay overly auto-critical graduate art student FTW....

Thanx :)

yes the hair ball monsters are creeptacular. I did them for a 3d design class in my undergrad as a fuck you to the adjunct professor and they have be come one of my favorite things. They are made from my babyteeth (notice one still has a brace on it) and hair that I collected from a salon.

ps

WHY IS LOWTECK NOT A SENATOR YET?!?!

VOTE LOWTECK!!

Anyone who thinks of those wonderful hairball monsters "normal" and "pedestrian" lives in a mighty interesting world.

Nicely done. I'm particularly fond of the cropped bonsai image.

AH Man...

I'm Afeared you might just have Shp'ellowbeared this task.
I was all balled up and rightly con-pheused by them cropped images. I had never seen no bio lom-a-neuasance or no ekty-plasm before. But it weren't no eckter-plasmer, it was a tiny tree.

um..

the jist of it is contained in Lank's Invent a New Word. The day in the car that he is refering to is the same day that you (master p00n) went crazy with the sledge hammer in the park (if i recall correctly). His write up doesn't completely transmit the hilarity of the conversation that ensued in the car.

Lank: "So, I made up this word for completing a task so well that it couldn't concievably be done any better. The word is shplanked! *happy smile*"
*momemnt of silence, and the raising of a single eyebrow*
Yellowbear: "Hahaha, is it an accident that most of that word is your name? I made up a word for that! I call it shp'ellowbear'ing, hahaha"
Lank: "...oh...hmm....*with no sarcasm*...I hadn't noticed..that's kind of embarassing...hahaha" etc...

HA!

I wish I'd thought of doing that with my baby teeth...

A winner is YOU!
