Anna One:
Whenever I come across someone doing some obviously apparent action, (like for example, finding their missing sunglasses on top of their head) I have been known to say, “You get a sticker!” in reference to those glory days of elementary school when all good deeds were rewarded with stickers- smiley face stickers, ‘good job’ stickers, and best off all sticker possibilities, gold stars!
MisSierra and I have taken this pat bit of sarcasm to it’s inevitable Nth degree. We recently lamented our lack of actual gold stars, and looking up from our fantastic plate of tikka masala, realized that the fix to our problem lay across the street at the 5 & dime. Gold star stickers were purchaced.
Gold star stickers were deployed.
Gold star stickers can now be found on the lapels of many a worthy achiever.
Mostly, however on MisSierra’s and my lapels, but none the less.

MisSierra:
Being recently removed from teaching i find myself with the urge to teach... as with most things i thought that would not go over well... like when i did preschool games and techniques to engage my high school students...
But to my constant amazement people of all ages get giddy when they receive a star. they shine proudly... and the most wonderful... is when another person (who didn't get a star) sees a star... they whine and plead... or rise to the occasion.
THESE ARE ADULTS mind you. behaving like little children.
apparently there were not enough "winner"s and "you're a star" handed out in the past forty years. i am just trying to undue this injustice.
what have you done that deserves a sticker?
